Rules and Regulation for Boys Hostel

Hostel accommodation is provided with the understanding that the resident student will strictly abide by the Hostel Rules currently in force or as may be enforced from time to time. Accommodation in the Hostel cannot be claimed as a matter of right. The Institute Administration may refuse accommodation to any student who is known to have grossly violated the Hostel Rules or whose presence is likely to disturb the peace and tranquility of hostel. Violation of hostel rules will make the student liable to disciplinary action including permanent expulsion from the hostels. Students must remember that hostel is the home of the student on the campus and therefore, he should behave on the campus as well as outside in such a manner as to bring credit to him and to the Institution. A student once admitted in the hostel, will continue to be a hostel inmate throughout the year unless otherwise debarred from the hostel on disciplinary grounds. Hostel is a part of Institute so hostel mates are bound to the disciplinary and other rules of the Institutes also and committees like Disciplinary Committee, Anti ragging Cell , Gender Equality Cell etc are also authorized to look in to the matter as and when asked by the Director of the Institute. In absence of Warden In-charge/Warden any member of the hostel committee or designated by the Director is equally authorize to handle and maintain the rules and regulation of the hostel.

NOTICE BOARD

Boarders must look up the Hostel Notice Board at hostel as well as on institute’s portal i.e. www. Iehe.ac.in regularly. The Warden In-charge/Warden and or Team member or any authorized member of the Institute staff can inspect the room of any student in the hostel at any time. Hostel inmates are supposed to keep I-cards with them and must present the same to any hostel or institute authority whenever asked for. 

ADMISSION

1.      Designing admission rules, admission list and other procedure are solely responsibility of the Hostel Committee as per the direction of the Institute.

2.      Hostel Accommodation will be given to the students on merit basis based on reservation policy of the State Government and academic performance in the previous semester/class by the Boys Hostel Committee  More over  preference will be given to those students whose parents are not staying in Bhopal

3.      Application form with attached one stamp size and one passport size photograph will be submitted to the Campus Administrator or Warden In-charge/Warden for hostel accommodation.

4.      Admission form for hostel accommodation has to be endorsed by the Director or Warden In-charge/Warden

5.      Admission in the hostel will be provisional subject to Allowed to Keep Term (ATKT) Rule.

6.      Students residing in the hostel in the term preceding the one which admission is sought are ordinarily given preference when allotting the rooms, provided their conduct, character and behavior in the hostel in the previous period are found satisfactory

GENERAL RULES

 

1.      Rooms are allotted to each student on his personal responsibility. He should see to the upkeep of his room, hostel and its environment. Students should bring to the notice of the Hostel Maintenance office, through The Hostel manager, for all routine maintenance works (Civil, Carpentry and Electrical), if any, to be carried out in their rooms. Students should co-operate in carrying out maintenance work and vacate their rooms completely when the Hostel Management requires the rooms for this purpose. On such occasions, the management will try to provide alternate accommodation. If any maintenance work is to be carried out when the room is under occupation, it is the occupant’s responsibility to make the room available for the same

2.      The Hostel Management will generally provide minimum furniture and fittings for each room consisting of one each of cot, table, chair, ceiling fan with regulator and, a tube light fitting. Rooms once allotted to the students for an academic year will not be changed except on special situations. Room inventory Form to be filled during check-in and check-out by the students in the hostel

3.      Any cleanliness matter is to be brought to the notice of the Hostel Manager

4.      Students are not permitted to keep costly mobiles, expensive things & cash with them and the institute will not be responsible for their loss, theft or missing items.

5.      Students should lock their room properly when they go out for bath, food etc. Each roommate must keep a key of the door lock of his room in case of triple seated accommodations.

6.      Students are not permitted to stick posters/ formula/pictures of any type (including God and Goddess) / painting / drawing or writing on the hostel walls.

7.      Students are not permitted to break open their room lock or cupboard and cause damage for the hostel property. Only maintenance staff are permitted to take remedial measures in case of loss of key or otherwise. In such case students should inform Hostel manager to initiate action. In the event of violation of above rules by inmates they will be expelled from the hostel.

8.      Since most of the rooms in the hostel are of sharing type students are to switch off their room lights after 11.00 p.m. till 5.30 a.m. in the morning. Incase if a student requires light for extra preparation he may use table lamp. This is done to avoid misunderstanding among the inmates of the same room

9.      Hostel students should be as economical as possible in the use of water and electricity. Students should switch off the light and fan when not in use.

10.  Students are not allowed to stay in the room all during class hours. Permission to be obtained from Hostel manager in writing for any reasons to stay back in the hostel during class hours.

11.  The students should not screen pirated / unauthorized /unlicensed movies in their computers and common rooms. Any violation will be dealt severely. Punishment for the same will be decided by authorities

12.  Hostlers are expected not violate dress code in the classes, mess/rooms, around the hostel areas and in the campus

13.  Members of the mess staff should not be asked to enter the hostel premises on any account.

14.  Hostel inmates are supposed to take care of their health themselves. Student suffering from infectious disease has to leave for medical treatment to proper clinic/hospital or isolated place.

15.  Students are prohibited from giving shelter to any other student/outsider in the rooms. In case of any unauthorized shelter, the student will be liable to disciplinary action.

16.  Formation of association of students on the basis of regions, caste or creed is not permitted, during their stay in the hostels.

17.  Male students are strictly forbidden from entering the Girls' Hostel and female students from entering Boy’s Hostel.

18.  Hostlers must be  aware of the attendance percentage to be maintained by them which is minimum of overall 75%  They should assure that they  will attend their  classes sincerely and effectively. Otherwise they may detain from appearing in the TERM END EXAMINATIONS.

19.  No boarder is allowed to engage a private servant or pet animals.

20.  Boarders may keep their vehicle/cycle in the campus at their own risk; however security arrangements are being made.

21.  Suggestion Form will be provided to the boarders as well as Suggestion Box will be also provided in the hostel to be opened every 15 days in the presence of Hostel Manager and Student representative.

 

 

DISCIPLINE

1.      No student should keep any fire-arms, lethal weapons, poisonous things or intoxicants of any kind in the Hostel. In such cases offender will be handed over to Police immediately

2.      All kinds of shouting, fighting, gambling, stealing, violet knocking, maltreating or abusing are strictly prohibited. In such cases offender will be handed over to Police immediately.

3.      CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL AND SMOKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. IN ANY KIND ANY ONE FOUND INDULGING IN SUCH ACTIVITIES WILL BE EXPELLED IMMEDIATELY FROM HOSTEL WITHOUT NOTICE

4.      Students must not take law into their own hands, but must report all disputes to the hostel Warden In-charge/Warden and Hostel Manager

5.      Students will be held responsible for the damage to the room property (i.e.) fan, furniture, fittings and fixtures etc provided. They will be held responsible for any breakages, repair or loss caused to hostel and mess property. In all such cases the students will have to pay the cost of such damages as fixed by the hostel in-charge/administration in addition to expulsion from hostel and action to be taken by police for the damages caused to Govt. property

6.      Meandering near girl’s hostel in odd hours is strictly prohibited. Action will be taken against offender in such cases.

RAGGING

1.      RAGGING IS STRICTLY BANNED BY ORDER OF HONOURABLE SUPREME COURT. POLICE CASE WILL BE REGISTERED AGAINST THE CULPRITS. Institute will handover those indulge in ragging to the police after preliminary enquiry by the anti ragging committee. Parents and Guardians will be informed the same after handing them over to police. Hence all the Parents and Guardians of hostel students are advised to make note of it and advice their wards do not indulge in ragging in any form as classified under Anti ragging act of Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. The Institute will not take any responsibility for any police action based on the above act within the campus or outside the campus.

2.      When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, collective punishment could be resorted to as a possible deterrent measure, as it would ensure community pressure on the potential raggers not to indulge in ragging

LEAVE / OUTING /ATTENDANCE OF STUDENTS IN HOSTEL

1.      Boarders are required to remain in the hostel from 8.00 p.m to 6.00 a.m. (July to Nov.) 7.00 p.m. to 7.00 a.m. (Dec. to May) ( As the campus is in aloof  area and Moreover Tiger Movements are also observed on the nearby Roads so timings are strictly to be followed.

2.      Hostel students shall not leave the campus without prior permission of the Warden/warden Incharge . They shall have to apply in prescribed form in advance stating the reason for leaving and the address of destination.

3.      Students will not be allowed to stay outside the hostel during nights. They should not leave the hostel for overnight stay without obtaining prior permission of the Warden In-charge/Warden

4.      In case of serious illness or infectious diseases a student may be asked to leave the hostel to stay with the Local Guardians / Residence.

5.      Students crossing the main gate for any purpose should make an entry in the “in and out register” available at the security office.

6.      Hostel student who leave hostel without the permission from the Warden In-charge/Warden shall be deemed to be missing and Parent/Guardian/Police authorities may be intimated in consultation with the Director

7.      Attendance of the students in the hostel will be taken strictly between 08.00 pm to 08.30 pm. Daily

8.      Any late comer will have to sign in a separate register. The late comers will be fined Rs. 500/- and will be informed to guardian and regular offenders will be terminated from the hostel without paying the dues

VISITORS

1.      Visitors to the hostel inmates will be required to enter their names and address and the name of the student whom they want to see etc in the register kept with the duty security guard at the Institute entrance. They will not be permitted to enter the Students rooms in the hostels. They can meet the hostel inmates at the Institute main reception area only.

2.      No day scholars, women/men, visitors/guests will be allowed to pay visits to the hostel without prior permission of the Warden In-charge/Warden / Hostel in-charge. Any students found to violate these rules will be expelled from the hostel immediately

 

Use of Electronic/Electric items

1.      Students shall NOT bring any extra furniture or other fixtures in the room. All furniture and fixtures in the rooms allotted to students shall be cared for property.

2.      Students shall not interchange any furniture/ fixture from one point/location in the hostel to another. Besides a penal recovery, students involved in such activities shall be expelled from the hostel.

3.      Assets in Common Areas/Corridors: Theft/damages to hostel assets in common areas/corridors shall be recovered from all students of the flank/ wing involved. In case of theft/damage to items that pertain to usage by the complete hostel, the recoveries shall be made from all the occupants of the hostel.

Celebration of Birthdays

1.      It shall be with prior written permission of the Hostel Manager.

2.      It shall be held in a common place for one to two hours between 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.

3.      No Loud Music will be allowed.

4.      There shall not be any kind of physical discomfort.

5.      No outside guest will be allowed.

6.      Violation of the rule shall be penalized.

MESS

1.      Every student residing in the hostel must join the mess attached to that hostel. Individual cooking (even tea, magi  etc)  is not permitted, even in there  their rooms.

2.      The hostel mess advance, which is to be adjusted against the monthly mess bills on receipt of the same from the contractor, no refunds will be allowed till the end of the academic year except discontinuance of the course or expulsion from the hostel.

3.      The approximate mess bill will be around Rs.2,300/-p.m. (May vary time to time)

4.      Reduction of mess charges will not be permitted for less than 15 days and advance intimation of 3 days will be necessary for allowing such rebate in mess charges.

5.      It is compulsory for all the students in the hostel to have their meals in the dinning hall itself and no food should be taken into the rooms.

6.      Students are supposed to bring their utensils such as Plate (Thali), Bowl( Katori), Glass (tumbler) etc. to take meal in the mess and wash their utensil themselves after finishing the meals

7.      Plates, glasses should not be left in the Dining hall.

8.      Students are expected to have their meals between the prescribed hours only. No late comers will be entertained.

9.      The hostellers shall practice good behavior come in proper dress to the dining room and maintain the decorum of decent dress code at all the times.

10.  In the event of any hostelite is expelled from the hostel for any disciplinary action and has to vacate the hostel in between the academic year, only the balance available hostel mess advance and caution deposit if any will be refunded after necessary deductions. ALL OTHER HOSTEL FEES IS NON REFUNDABLE.
