Brief Profile of the Department      The fashion design programme seeks to be a fundamental resource to the community in soft good design and manufacture by educating individuals for employment, retraining or entrepreneurship by contributing to the institution’s role in introducing and inspiring the student to challenge, commitment and endurance.The fashion design programme mission is to provide basic training in soft goods production and fashion design, including the technical skills required for job entry and retraining for the garment industry and upgrading of garment construction, pattern making and current market skills for individuals and entrepreneurs. Enriching their skills through rich cultural heritage of India.

1 In the 2nd semester, session 2014-15, Ms. HarshaGoplani from B.A 1st year secured 7th position in the merit list.
2 1st prize “Dance competition” organized by IIM Indore. Aditi, Ayushi, Karishma.
3 Dr. Renu Jain Awarded with best paper presentation at National conference in Acola, Maharashtra.
Highlights of the Department
1 Fashion designing is a field of innovations and creativity. Each and every course is taught in combinations with new and traditional methods. Natural or acquired both skills are necessary in fashion designing. To upgrade the natural skills and to acquire the technical or other related skills various workshops, trainings, celebrations, visits to industry and exhibitions are arranged. Students are asked to prepare and study portfolio of designers of national and international fame for inspirations and motivation.
2 "Design Pool" is formed in the department to explore the imaginative and creative minds of the institute
Future Plans of the Department
1 Establishment of following three labs in the department.
2 1)Pattern making and Garment Construction Lab.
3 2)Design and CAD Lab
4 3)Textile Processing and Dyeing Lab
5 Starting Fashion Design Subject as Subsidiary also. So that students with natural instinct for design can opt it as their hobby subject and can satisfy their hunger for creativity and designing. In future students can convert their hobby into profession.
6 Starting PG course i.e. MA in Fashion Management and Merchandising.
7 Providing consultancy services to local boutiques and RMG sector of MP in Pattern Development.
8 Procuring ICT facilities in the department
9 Starting more Design courses at certificate, diploma and UG level.
10 Hiring manpower for teaching and non-teaching tasks.
