Vision & Mission

VISION:

The fashion design program seeks to be a fundamental resource to the community in soft good design and manufacture by educating individuals for employment, retaining or entrepreneurship by contributing to the institution’s role in introducing and inspiring the student to challenge, commitment and endurance.

MISSION:

The fashion design programme mission is to provide basic training in soft goods production and fashion design, including the technical skills required for job entry and retraining for the garment industry and upgrading of garment construction, pattern making and current market skills for individuals and entrepreneurs. Enriching their skills through rich culture heritage of India.

Harshita Verma received 1st Prize in National Online Art Competition(2017-18)

Student Ms. Kriti Pandey scored 3rd position in overall BA Semester I result in the Institute in the year 2017-18.

Ms. Dakshta Verma of BA 3rd year topped in the overall Art stream in the year 2019-20.

Sandhya Kushwaha was awarded Best Fashion Designer in Khadi State Level Design Contest Abhikalpan, Organised by RGPV Bhopal and won cash Prize Rs. 25000/- (2019-20).

Highlights

1

Fashion designing is a field of innovations and creativity. Each and every course is taught in combinations with new and traditional methods.

Natural or acquired both skills are necessary in fashion designing. To upgrade the natural skills and to acquire the technical or other related skills various workshops and trainings are organised on regular basis.

Industrial visits and educational trips are part of syllabi.

Participation in national trade fairs, exhibitions, Design shows and Competitions.

Assistance in individual Portfolio making.

Future Plans

1

Establishment of following two labs in the department.

 

a) Design and CAD Lab

 

b) Textile Processing and Dyeing Lab

2

Starting PG course i.e. MA in Fashion Management and Merchandising.

3

Providing consultancy services to local boutiques and RMG sector of MP in Pattern Development.

4

Procuring ICT facilities in the department

5

Starting more Design courses at certificate, diploma and UG level.

6

Hiring manpower for teaching and non-teaching tasks.
